'Tis the season for farmers markets! April showers not only brought May flowers, but an abundance of local produce! The beloved farmers markets throughout Washtenaw County are in full bloom and we're delighted to share some details with you!
Ann Arbor Farmers Market
Did you know the Ann Arbor Farmers Market is over 100 years old? The producer-only market has served our community since 1919, relocating to its current location in 1931. Over the years, the historic market has grown significantly, featuring more than 125 vendors. Whether it's fresh produce or handmade gifts you're searching for, you'll have plenty to explore. In addition to cash, debit/credit, and tap-to-pay, the Ann Arbor Farmers Market accepts SNAP/EBT, Double Up Food Bucks, Prescription for Health, and Senior Project Fresh food assistance programs.

Chelsea Farmers Market
Since its inception in 1977, the Saturday Farmers Market has served as a vital resource for fresh, seasonal fruits and veggies, different types of meat and poultry, a variety of baked goods, herbs, and handmade artisan crafts like jewelry and pottery. With nearly 40 vendors, you're sure to leave with oodles of goodies! While the Wednesday Farmers Market is a bit smaller, featuring about 20 vendors, the range of products does not disappoint! Mid-week shoppers will find a similar abundance of fresh food, spices, baked goods, flowers, and handmade artisan crafts as the Saturday patrons. Whether you're purchasing your produce with cash, debit/credit, Bridge, or SNAP cards, your farmer's market hauls will be bountiful!

Dexter Farmers Market
The Dexter Farmers Market turns 19 this year! Nestled in Dexter's historic downtown area, you'll find a plethora of fresh food, baked goods, plants, seeds, and dairy products. Vendors will indicate their preferred method of payment at their booths, though you can expect many to accept cash, debit/credit, or tap-to-pay. Not sure how to utilize your food assistance program? Manchester Farmers Market
The highly anticipated Manchester Farmers Market features much more than the typical market offerings. Opening mid-May, the market will consist of fresh, local produce, cut flowers, baked goods, crafts, and live plants, in addition to weekly highlights like canning classes and a chili cook-off! With the recent approval of SNAP transactions, the market can serve even more of the dynamic community. While cash, debit/credit, or tap-to-pay may be accepted by many market vendors, patrons will have the option to utilize Senior Market Bucks.

Milan Farm & Flea Market
The Milan Farm & Flea is exactly what it sounds like... a farmers market and flea market wrapped into one beloved extravaganza! If you haven't heard, the Ypsilanti Famer's Market is kicking off this season in a new location! In addition to fresh food, you'll find cooking classes, gardening workshops, and other hands-on programs to provide folks with skills to prepare fresh food and foster community engagement. Primed for easy access in Ypsi's vibrant downtown area, accepting SNAP and other food assistance programs, the market will strengthen community connection and economic opportunity.
